macOS
macOS 12 Monterey or later
SKlauncher ships as a Universal macOS binary, running natively on both Intel Macs and Apple Silicon (M1, M2, M3, M4). The .dmg installer drops the launcher into your Applications folder and handles the right Java runtime per Minecraft version, so you do not need a separate Java install.

Frequently asked questions
macOS-specific answers about SKlauncher.
Does SKlauncher work on Apple Silicon Macs?
Yes. The build is a Universal binary, so it runs natively on both Intel and Apple Silicon (M1, M2, M3, M4). You do not need Rosetta and you get full native performance on ARM.
Why does macOS say "the app cannot be opened" the first time?
Gatekeeper blocks unsigned apps by default. Right-click the app and choose "Open" the first time, then confirm the prompt. After that, normal launches work fine. We are working toward Apple notarization, which removes this step.
What macOS versions are supported?
macOS 12 Monterey or later. That covers Monterey, Ventura, Sonoma, and Sequoia. Older macOS versions are not officially tested or supported.
Do I need to install Java separately on macOS?
No. SKlauncher fetches the correct Java runtime per Minecraft version automatically. You do not need to install or manage Java yourself.
Can I move SKlauncher out of the Applications folder?
You can run it from anywhere, but the Applications folder is recommended so macOS can update permissions and keychain entries consistently. Game data lives in ~/Library/Application Support/SKlauncher.
